Went to School Of Rock semis for a while in the aftn... I think i missed the ronin guest performance... oh well... the bands were not bad, but the crowd was too overwhelming, i could barely see the stage... so i left for orchard to meet cali...

ronin's performance was scheduled at 4... so i met up with cali at abt 3plus and we hung out at cine's BK to kill time... btw, cali was carrying this really suspicious huge bag (which she jus got froma lucky draw), which can't be left lying ard unattended, coz anyone might just suspect that it contains some terrorist planted bombs... lolx!~ Oh well... then we finally decide to drag ourselves (and her huge 'terrorist' bag) to youthpark for the performance... we saw risse n faith n feli n hy n des n ten thousand rj n hc ppl there... but that's not the main pt, coz it's an rj-cum-hc organised cip event anw... risse told us that ronin finished performing... wad!? it was not even 4pm yet... their screwed up email?! grrrrrr... but thankfully, we tried to check with the 'orange' guys (ie. the ppl-in-charge), n they told us ronin will b performing after the then currently performing band... phew!~ can't imagine if i had missed both performances on the same day..

Btw, the band b4 ronin apparently performed original pieces, which r qte nice afterall. they sang all chinese songs, which all mysteriously n coincidentally have english titles, such as In The End. If i rmb correctly the band is called rustynails... anw, they looked 10 times cooler after u hear their performance, as compared to when they just took over the stage... the vocalist's voice was qte powerful (of coz not as good as ah shin from xin yue tuan)... but u really won't know wad a real powerful voice until u hear levan later on...

So finally, after a long wait, we've got rOnin on stage performing... their performances never fails to impress me... i m not a pro at music, but i do enjoy good ones... the music was good... the guitars were great, with sean doing most of the guitar solos (which cali din manage to film down any!?)... jus like other gigs, u see the cool n quiet simon enjoying his own performance, n not giving a damn to anything else... the drumming was pro, thou the drummer looks a old for his age... levan's damn zai voice and his random actions, as usual, damn engaging... he is jus a real farnie guy! here's an excerpt: "Children, don't take drugs, they r not good... don't get high on drugs, but it's okay to get high on alcohol!' Wohoooo~ well-said! lolx!~ And btw, he slammed the whole mic stand during the performance, and tried to 'strangle' himself with the mic cord while singing... kaoZ!~ haha... and he came all the way down the stage n shoved us the mic to sing!

Anw, they performed only 3 songs... Sooooo sadddd... but they just as i expected, they chose the song Black Maria <== great stuff!~ Btw, they are launching they album Do Or Die on my birthday!!! So excited... haha... i was talking to sean after the performance.. and he smiled n said, "its fated..." lolx!~ btw, i din expect the ronin members to be so friendly... I so happened to talk about going to support the gig n not mugging for the upcoming prelims, then he told me he got OFF or smth for prelims BUT managed to pull thru with an ABB grade in the As... damn shen riteee? haha... we kechao-ed him abt his shirt (which i caught him wearing for the 3rd gig so far), haha... his new trademark alr... ohhhh, kiasu cali din wanna queue for autograph another day, so she decided to ask sean for one jus now... and she got one for me too! heh! how nice... =) i think cali got a teenie weenie bit jealous coz of wad he wrote in the autograph, coz hers jus says thanks or smth... hehe... Anw, i jus passed cali a random anti-drug post card... so its qte weird n farnie... lolx!~

Ohhh.. sean complained that he could not even hear his own guitar at the performance, but it din't affect me much, coz did i mention that i was sitting all the way front in the middle of the first row? the volume was obviously loud enough... And Levan complained that it felt like a funeral coz the crowd was not high enough... so sad... should have gone for the School Of Rock which he claims the atmosphere was so much better... i mean duh rite.. u haf 20 over selected bands there, plus the crowd that appreciates rock music... Qte stressful talking to Levan coz he slurrs when he speaks, its okayyy when he sings... (does that remind u of jay chou? =) i din catch wad he said at first, den i felt bad to make him repeat, so i jus smiled helplessly.. den he went, "wad? shy arhhh?" SHY?! wahhahaha... nono... jus that u're the big shot, n i din wanna make u repeat wad u said... and he asked the usuals, such as are we on the mailing list, which we proudly said yes!

Not everyone likes their music thou, so sad...why? but it's okayyy.. there's always me n cali, the not really very hard-core but very supportive fans... lolx!~ We took a photo with them! (but with simon missing from the pic.. hmpf... n the drummer dun fit the pic leh... n the guitarist was trying to b farnie, put the goodie bag on his head!)
